My Fortress

Once, there was an architect, he had so skillful apprentice that the architect let him build a tower. Somebody thinks that his tower is better than the master’s. I can say both are wonderful.

Georgian people tell a lot of terrible stories about these fortresses: the master was envious and pushed the learner out of the fortress. Then cursed him and further he built nothing.

Terrible stories - but they are not true. The true is that Khertvisi fortress is built on the mouth of two rivers and is so beautiful and great. Georgian people have real treasure… I remembered everything and that was not surprising. I could find the tunnel and hill were we used to sit on in the evenings watched Khertvisi fortress and spoke about different things, for example could we dare to go to the fortress by the tunnel at night. I was very surprised, when a woman, who lived there, Mzia Natenadze asked me: “Are you cybernetics?”

Yes we are. That’s true. 20 years have past after it, but 20 years are nothing, though when I was reading Dumas, I was a teenager and thought how much could they do after 20 years.

In 1987-1988, during the restoration in Khertvisi fortress, I was with cybernetics and thought that this little work, that I did, was very important in saving the fortress. In September of this year when I came to Khertvisi fortress I was proud and could dream this fortress is built by me. If not me, this strong fortress couldn’t meet the girls and boys which have come here.

That’s why I advise you to join the people, who try to clean fortresses, for example the club “Temple”. Even if you put one stone aside, you’ll be very proud of it.

I want to thank the club “Temple” and Mr. Soso and Mr. Dephi for these wonderful unforgettable days. I hope we’ll meet each other on Khertvisi fortress – of course, together with you – dear reader.
